meet THE TEAM !
I decided to leave my office job after completing a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) at the end of 2011 and took the first steps in my new career as an organic veg grower. I worked for Tony Davis at Roseisle Gardens, managing his box scheme and assisting him with growing, whilst also taking part in a year long training in organic growing, apprenticing 3 days per week with Maggie Sutherland at Natural Veg Company in Inverness.
In the summer of 2015 I launched Roots, Fruits and Leaves, stemming from my desire to live in a place where we all have access to fresh, healthy, affordable, local, seasonal, organically grown fruit and veg and that the people who grow our food for us receive a fair and sustainable price for their produce. I am passionate about creating a strong and resilient local food network, collaborating with other local producers and supplying local customers.
I am on the faculty of the Findhorn Foundation College teaching on their annual PDC, Ecovillage Design Educaton and Applied Ecovillage Living courses. I focus on permaculture design frameworks and how to apply them to land based and non-land based projects - using my business plan for Roots, Fruits and Leaves as an example.
Since launching RF&L I have recently taken more of a front seat with growing veg (see more on 'our producers' page) and I am delighted to be building a small team of passionate foodie folk to help with admin, growing, harvesting, packing and delivering the veg boxes.
